Infectious artist Emil Kozak has a forthcoming Barcelona show based on the imagination and curiosity of childhood. Besides building a playhouse out of scrap wood, he’s also running a competition and asking his fans to share their sweetest and/or most embarrassing childhood or teenage memory. The best stories will be exhibited at the show and the killer anecdote wins a t-shirt. Send your own story and a photo to info@emilkozak.com.

Stan’s the man. That’s what Infectious artist Jon Burgerman thinks, as does Reuben Rude, Nathan Jurevicius, Luke Chueh and 96 other artists who were asked to remix the cartoon strips and characters of Stan Lee at a recent exhibition at Gallery 1988 in LA. Stan showed up on opening night to greet his fans, as did three custom-painted Spiderman and Punisher cars that were stationed in front of the exhibition. Want to see what a Jon Burgerman doodle vision looks like on a car? Keep checking in, we’ll post a sneak preview soon.
Obey Obama!
06/02/2008
Shepard Fairey has joined George Clooney, Ted Kennedy and the surviving members of The Grateful Dead in supporting Barack Obama.
“I believe with great conviction that Barack Obama should be the next President,” said the artist otherwise known as Obey. “I feel that he is more a statesman than a politician. He was against the war when it was an unpopular position. Obama is for energy and environmental conservation. He is for healthcare reform.”
The proceeds from the 350 prints of Obama [above] are financing a state-wide poster campaign. Unfortunately they’ve already sold out, but you can always find an Obey/Obama tribute t-shirt here.
